About Alexis Solis

Alexis Solis is a proud Prince George’s County native with over 30 years of deep-rooted commitment to her community. A passionate advocate for equity, education, and economic opportunity, Alexis has dedicated her life to service—both in boardrooms and on the ground.

As a multiracial woman of Hispanic (Nicaraguan), Black, and White heritage, Alexis brings a unique and inclusive perspective to public service—one that reflects the diverse voices of Maryland’s 5th Congressional District. Her identity strengthens her commitment to building bridges, advancing representation, and ensuring that every community is seen, heard, and served.

She has served on numerous impactful boards, including the BREM Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer, the American Red Cross Southern Maryland Chapter, and the Latino Advisory Board for the Prince George’s County Executive. She was also appointed to the technology transition team for an incoming County Executive, helping to shape the county’s vision for innovation and transparency in government.

Education and youth advocacy are central to Alexis’s mission. She served on the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC), a school board subcommittee focused on improving outcomes for students with special needs and supporting families through policy change and accountability.

A former co-captain of the girls’ volleyball team at Charles Herbert Flowers High School and a team player at Bowie State University, Alexis now gives back by coaching girls’ volleyball in Prince George’s County—continuing her commitment to youth development and mentorship both on and off the court.

Professionally, Alexis is the CEO of Empress Consulting International, a firm focused on strategic solutions across government and private sectors. She previously managed a portfolio exceeding $12 billion for a leading technology consulting company, where she specialized in federal contracting and program leadership.

Alexis is a proud graduate of Bowie State University and is currently continuing her education at Life University, studying positive psychology to strengthen her people-centered leadership approach.

Now, as a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Maryland’s 5th Congressional District, Alexis brings unmatched experience, cultural awareness, and a bold vision focused on delivering real solutions for the people of Prince George’s County and beyond.
